NPDP Reading Resources – Two Books You Need

Return to Module 1

Two books are used in conjunction with the materials in the e-course.  Both are valuable additions to your physical or virtual bookshelf.  You can see how they are integrated into the training on the reading list.

Required Book Resources

 (1) New Products Management by Crawford, M. and DiBenedetto, A.

Use either the 9th or 10th edition of this book – they are essentially identical in terms of preparing for the NPDP.  Find the version that is the best value for you.  Typically the 9th edition can be found for around $30, much less than the new 10th edition, but it may only be available from book resellers, such as those on Amazon’s seller network.   A few options include:

  • 9th edition, Amazon
  • 10th edition, Amazon

(2)  Leading Product Development: The Senior Manager’s Guide to Creating and Shaping the Enterprise by Wheelwright, S. C. and Clark, K. B, published 2007.

Typically you can find this book new for less than $15 on Amazon and less for the Kindle version.  Also, previously owned copies are available for much less.  A few options for purchasing the book include:

  • Amazon
  • Barnes & Noble
