Chad McAllister, Ph.D., NPDP, CIL, PMP
Founder & Chief Product Master
My mission is…
To inspire and equip product managers and leaders to have greater influence in their organizations and over product so they can create products customers love.
I call this helping product managers to become Product Masters.
I’m the host of The Everyday Innovator™ podcast (Inc. Magazine’s 10 Best Podcasts for Innovators), author of Turning Ideas into Market-Winning Products, and founder of Product Mastery Now.
I have also been recognized as Top 40 Product Management Influencer and a Top 10 Innovation Blogger.
I help product managers become Product Masters because, after:
- working in product management for 25+ years;
- training hundreds of product managers at Microsoft, Kind Snacks, Level 3, Kohler, John Deer, J.D. Power, GHX, FedEx, Cummins, Compassion, Clorox, Cisco, Mastercard, SAIC, Thomson Reuters, Xerox, and many others;
- earning a PhD in Innovation; and
- conducting numerous workshops;
I created the PRODUCT MASTERY ROADMAP.
It shows how product managers anywhere can become product masters.
Product Masters create more successful products, gain influence throughout their organizations, and accelerate their careers. Their best days are when they are creating products customers love.
I am certified by PDMA as a New Product Development Professional (NPDP) and credentialed by AIPMM as a Certified Innovation Leader (CIL), which he helped to create. He is respected by both organizations as an authoritative trainer and consultant for these certifications. I also earned and maintain a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI. My professional experiences have made me broadly skilled in many aspects of business but my focus is on new product development and innovation. My education includes a PhD in Innovation and MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering. I am a contributing author to the PDMA Toolbook 3 and a frequent speaker to innovation-related professional groups.
I am also an instructor for product management and innovation management graduate courses at Boston University, Colorado State University, and Walden University.
In my spare time you will likely find me RV’ing with my family. We have experience with a tent (not an official RV of course), travel trailer, 5th-wheel, and motorhome. Our longest trip was 54 weeks and 22,000 miles and we have made several month+ trips too. It is a great way to see places and meet people.
